Trump Welcomes Relatives of Shot National Guard Soldiers to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He added that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Vigils across the state have been held in their memory.

Presidential Call

The commander-in-chief said he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both members of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president addressed reporters. “And likewise with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Public Support

Community members assembled over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to aid law enforcement in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“She was the individual that educators wished for. She behaved with quiet strength, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of her previous school, stated to the media. “She was sweet, considerate and always ready to support those in need.”

Funeral details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Actions and Government Adjustments

Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old suspect with one count of murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The incident caused the government to halt asylum applications and halt providing entry permits to owners of travel documents.

Condition of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi informed a news show that she planned to speak to his relatives.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a law enforcement officer with honor, per the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had bravery,” the governor informed the audience at the memorial. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
