The Renowned Musician Encourages Public Help to Send Together for Palestine Song to UK Christmas No 1.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to send a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The campaign seeks to send support to communities in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely let down if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“It has a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Featured Artists

The single was laid down following a solidarity show held in the autumn. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The diverse array of musicians featured on Lullaby includes a range of well-known figures from the music world. All took part in the September show, which reportedly raised a significant sum for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a team of talented individuals. The single showcases a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the project have stated that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These donations will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a representative said. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Obviously, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the region was described as its profound destruction, with a overwhelming percentage of buildings described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“In that context, a couple of million is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is above all making this cause better known and proving that another narrative exists.”

The track is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from mid-December.
