The Co-Creator of Call of Duty, Has Passed Away in a Los Angeles Car Crash
The visionary game developer, who helped create the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a traffic collision in California aged 55.
Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.
The renowned industry figure lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a highway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, US media outlets report.
"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to his family and friends, his family, and all those touched by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts stated.
