Passionate fans of the pop star are calling for that a individual who jumped a barricade and seized the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or removed from Singapore.

A circulating video shows the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing photographers and charging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a event pathway flanked by supporters.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the gathering by event staff.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "let go after being arrested", though court documents indicated that he was due to be present on the following morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

History of Event Invasions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile contains videos of him interrupting other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last winter.

"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," stated an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Fans Express Concern Over Grande's Well-being

Numerous supporters blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the finale of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding many.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said one more response on Instagram.

A number of attendees also criticised security officers at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while others demanded digital services to block Mr Wen's content.

Response and Premiere Information

In clips shared widely, Grande appeared surprised when she was approached by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.

Many of attendees had gathered in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore mall, including a number who had queued for as long as eight hours before it began.

The motion picture, to be premiered on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-film interpretation of the acclaimed Broadway and West End production Wicked, which revolves around the unlikely friendship between two distinct sorceresses.

The production itself is a derivative of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were accompanied by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing movie of last year in the UK, and scored 10 award recognitions, earning a pair for excellent wardrobe and production design.
